You could feel the tension as BH elected to bowl and struck first ball … 0-1 ?. This brought Ben “ ice-man” N to the crease against a strong opening bowling duo . Two glorious cover drives later panic ? over!

The pitch had movement and we were suddenly two down before Ben hit the biggest six out of the ground before retiring on 32 off just 16 balls on a difficult track. Aman struck some powerful shots (16) and with Connor started to look dangerous. Both fell to outstanding catches and BH were back in front .

Excellent leg spin bowling proved hard to score off and the runs dried up . We looked destined to score around 75-85 before demon running by Zach the flash and fine striking by Marvellous Monty took us to 104 off our 16 overs ( light reduced) . Reasonable score but strong batting side.

BH opening bats scored lots of runs but they would face a tough task against the pace of Ben and Connor at one end supported by the pace changes of Aman and the accuracy of metronomic Leo . Despite excellent bowling they found their way to 43-0 off 7 before Connor struck . But BH still favs.

When they got to 74-1 and then 90-2 things looked bleak . Josh got a vital wicket , their opener retired but they still needed only 15 overs, to win . But twice before LG had won from impossible situations , so u never know ! ?

Early on we had our champagne ? moment with Bens huge six out of the ground. But there were to be three more … incredibly.

Champagne moment 2, risky single Connor stayed as cool ? as his school friend Ben and hand delivered the stumping. Hugo from the u-11 came on bowled a maiden . A desperate BH threw the bat twice , outside edges for 4 . Despondent ? LG . What shall we do came the cry …. Stay calm was the answer. ? 2 Hugo bowls a Yorker on middle stump ; bowled ? The CC quickies Conner Ben come back for the last two overs .Handful on that track . Connor gives just a single . Well bowled ?

They need 7 off the last over and in a tipsy turvy match we are now favs. The batsman edges Bens good length bowl just past the keeper . Four !! 3 off 5 for BH win . Ice man Ben bowls 4 consecutive good length balls that batsman misses . 3 off one? . The bat makes contact and clubs it to deep mid off it looks like for two and a draw. They run one turn for the second ? moment three . “ Our Man” hurls the ball in hits the stumps for a Stokes type run out . LG win by one run .

Fab team effort . Great fielding and excellent spirit . Lovely lovely game of cricket . Played in the right spirit .Two evenly matched sides .

Some great individual moments from a lot of people but in a close run thing Ben for his classy knock and bowling the final over is just MOM . Though everyone did so well and it really was a team performance.
